HE WAS SO COMMITTED TO THE DREAM OF A NEW SOCIETY

Alan Silverman

I first met Daya in the mid 1970’s in Montreal.  We met at some Third World support function. I was new to political activism and I had never met anyone like him.

He was so committed to the dream of a new society, both here in Canada and in India, and he was so dedicated to being loyal to his comrades.

Daya’s enthusiasm and optimism, and his relentless quest to try to understand and change the world always impressed me.  Unfortunately, due to living quite far from each other, in the last 30 years, I did not have that much contact with Daya, but these first impressions always stayed with me.  I extend my condolences to his family, friends, and comrades.  Daya will be remembered and missed.
