DAYA WAS AN EXCEPTIONAL MAN

Daya was an exceptional man. Not withstanding his very substantial academic achievements, his contributions to the cause of social justice and seeding and mentoring of several organizations and institutions will have left a lasting impression. Even though he left Montreal many years ago, his vision flourishes in Teesri Duniya, Kabir Centre and several other organizations.
On a personal level, I have always valued my friendship with him. He persuaded Sushma and me to get involved in Kabir Centre which greatly enriched our lives. I fondly remember the long and stimulating discussions with him in the dog run on diverse topics such as politics, films, books and other topics. There is much to remember and celebrate. His legacy will live.
