MARCH IN NEW YORK AGAINST MILITARY REPRESSION IN EGYPT

Friday Nov. 25 witnessed a spirited march by some 500 people against military repression in Egypt that has led to at least 40 deaths and 2000 serious injuries in the last week especially in Tahrir Square in Cairo.

 

The march began at 6th Avenue and 56th St where the offices of Point Lookout Capital Partners, who are major funders and suppliers of military equipment being used by the Egyptian military and police against protestors, are located. After shouting slogans in both English and Arabic, the marchers walked all the way across town to 58th St and 1st Avenue where the Egyptian consulate is located and demanded that the military council quit power and hand the country to democratic rule. An editor of Insaf Bulletin took part in the march and gave a brief interview to a news channel that can be viewed on the attached clip:
